IN THE BEGINNING…THE WORD
DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY, AUGUST 18, 2011
WILL YOU BE REFORMED?
“And if ye will not be REFORMED by me by these things, but will walk contrary unto me; Then will I also walk contrary unto you, and will punish you yet seven times for your sins” (Leviticus 26:23).
God has always desired for his children to walk in his ways. If we choose to turn to our own way, God must bring the rod of correction. Through this process, God reforms his church so that it looks like it should look—like his Son (who is the express image of the God as stated in Hebrews 1:3). We must allow the word of God to work in our heart to reform us to the image of God. We must submit to the hard corrections of God, those hard lessons he teaches us in our trials. Did we learn anything through the trial? God wants to reform us so that we can “come into the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ” (see Ephesians 4:13).
Today, let us be reformed!
