THE LAW OF KINDNESS

IN THE BEGINNING…THE WORD
DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY, August 15, 2011
THE LAW OF KINDNESS
“She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her mouth is the law of kindness (Proverbs 31:26).
Are you breaking the law?  The woman described in Proverbs 31 is said to have her tongue governed by the law of kindness.  Not only does she speak wise words, but she allows no corrupt thing to proceed out of her mouth.  As Christians we are to have our tongue in subjection to God so that he might allow the body to be built up.  We are commanded: “Let no  corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearer” (Ephesians 4:29).  If we speak well,  we will live well:  “For he that would love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile” (I Peter 3:10).
Today, let us pray for kind words and a kind way.
