WHAT IS YOUR OCCUPATION?

IN THE BEGINNING…THE WORD
DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY, AUGUST 8, 2011
WHAT IS YOUR OCCUPATION?
“He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for  himself a kingdom, and to return.  And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, OCCUPY till I come”( Luke 19:12,13).
In the parable of the long journey described in Luke 19, Jesus illustrates the manner in which the kingdom of God works.  Jesus is the nobleman in the story.  He came from heaven to earth (a long journey) and purchased for himself a kingdom.  He will return to earth one day, and all of us, his servants, must give account for the work we have been engaged in.  We must be responsible, wise stewards of the gifts and talents the Holy Ghost has distributed to our care. Our occupations are to be for the work and glory of our Lord.
Today, let us OCCUPY, and commit to a life that is forevermore about our Father’s business!
