IN THE BEGINNING…THE WORD
DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY, AUGUST 2, 2011
THE FATHER, THE WORD, AND THE HOLY GHOST
“For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one” (I John 5:7).
The Father, the Word and the Holy Ghost are ONE-- what a demonstration of unity, oneness and perfect accord. The Father’s thoughts are higher than man’s thoughts, yet they are in agreement with the Son and The Holy Ghost. Every day we have the opportunity to walk in unity with “these three” by submitting to our Father’s will as the Holy Ghost leads, prompts and reveals that which brings God pleasure. Additionally, as the body of Christ, we have an incredible privilege to unite as one and agree. Jesus informs us in Matthew 18:19: "Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven."
God is a God of unity, one accord and perfect fellowship, and he honors these qualities in his children. Today, let us honor the Father, the Word and the Holy Ghost. As They agree in heaven, let us agree on earth.
