IN THE BEGINNING…THE WORD
DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY, AUGUST 28, 2011
THANK YOU
“He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan”(Luke 17:16 NIV).
God does so many wonderful and gentle acts of kindness for his children, sometimes we forget to give him thanks. He protects us in the storm; He gives fruit to our womb and makes our quiver full; He provides for our needs and heals our bodies. He does so much that we almost in every situation expect the blessing. Yes, God does enjoy showering us with his goodness and mercy, but He looks for the praise, too. “Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner,” asked Jesus in Luke 17. We must acknowledge God’s goodness, praising and glorifying Him for his goodness towards us. For we know that if we keep quiet the stones will cry out (read Luke 19:40).
Today, Let us praise and glorify our God and Creator, whose mercy endureth forever.
