BUILDING
What are you building? What structures are you building on? Jesus said that he was building his church upon a rock, a structure so strong that the gates of hell would not prevail against it. The structure by which Christ builds his church is our confession of faith as seen in Matthew 16:
He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Matthew 16:15-18
This confession of faith is so strong and so binding that it seals us, defines us and delivers us. We are lively stones in the building of God’s spiritual house. Today, let us rejoice in God’s building.
