IN THE BEGINNING…THE WORD
DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY, JANUARY 20, 2012
Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:11
Raised in the likeness of the Lord’s resurrection, we are now alive unto God--free from the bondage of sin! All that is corrupt and fallen in our flesh no longer has dominion over us. We can rely upon the Spirit and LIVE. We can count on our flesh being dead.
When fear comes up in our flesh, we can reckon it dead and rely on the Spirit to bring faith. When hatred tries to rise up in us, we can count on it having no control or power over us, and rely on the Spirit to pervade our hearts with love. When Satan persecutes us with his lies and accusations and we want to fight back, we can trust that the Spirit will raise us up to higher ground and will cause us to praise and behold God in the midst of the persecution. When the arm of flesh wants to befriend us, we can reckon it dead and hold onto God’s unchanging hand.
Today, let us LIVE...unto God.
