ALL ISRAEL SHALL BE SAVED

IN THE BEGINNING…THE WORD
DAILY DEVOTONAL FOR TODAY, January 31, 2012
ALL ISRAEL SHALL BE SAVED
And so all Israel shall be saved:  As it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob.  Romans 11:26
They are the apple of His eye; concerning the elect, they are the Beloved.  Yes, the Jewish nation shall be saved.  This mystery is spoken of in Romans, the eleventh chapter.    For we see in our day, the blindness of many Jews  in regard to their Messiah, Jesus.  But it shall turn.  It is turning.  For we know that when the fullness of the Gentiles comes, then we shall experience what will feel like a resurrection.  We will see Israel rise up and lay hold to their Rock, their King, their Savior and Lord.  We will experience life from the dead.  “For the gifts and callings of God are without repentance” (Romans  11:29).

Today, let us prepare our hearts and minds...and our churches for this coming resurrection.

WHAT DO YOU PREACH?

IN THE BEGINNING...THE WORD
DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY...JANUARY 29, 2012

WHAT DO YOU PREACH?

But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
Romans 10:8-11

Faith changes everything.  It changed the old testament into the new testament.  It
changes a sinner into a saint. It changes the dead into the born again. So, what do you preach?  The Apostles of Jesus Christ preached the word of faith.  They knew that without faith everything was dead, old and condemned-- already.  But, with faith everything is alive, new and forgiven-- already.

Today, let us preach the word of faith!

GOING FORTH, CONQUERING

IN THE BEGINNING…THE WORD
DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY, JANUARY 27, 2012

GOING FORTH, CONQUERING

And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer. Revelations 6:2

The kingdom of heaven suffers violence, according to Matthew 11:12: And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence and the violent take it by force.
We need to know that Jesus is a conquering Savior who reigns in a conquering kingdom.  To Live in Christ is to live with conquering power, daily. We have to commit our lives to Christ Jesus and surrender to His Spirit as it quickens us to conquer every opposition we have  been called to overcome.  Indeed, we are called to conquer.  This is our birthright as a child of God.  This is what  Jesus did while on earth, and this is what He is still doing in and through his body.

Today, let us not be weary in well doing, but let us continue in the conquering work of Christ Jesus.

THE WAY

IN THE BEGINNING...THE WORD
DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY, JANUARY 26,2012

THE WAY

And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it;

Do you hear the voice of God directing you?  Is His Spirit your guide and waymaker.  We must walk in the path that God has set before us, and with prayer and devotion to the course, our God shall keep us moviing forward, gaining new territory for His kingdom.

Today, know that God has set before you a righteous path to walk in.
when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left. Isaiah 30:12

FAMILIAR OR HOLY?

FAMILIAR OR HOLY?
IN THE BEGINNING...THE WORD
DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY, JANUARY 24, 2012

But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written,  be ye holy; For I am holy.
I Peter 1:15,16

Is your conduct familiar or holy?  In other words, do you model the ways of the world or the ways of the Father?  Are  you vulgar, vile or commonplace, or are you set apart, high, lifted up, cleansed by the blood of the Lamb?   As saints of God we are to be different than the world  around us.  Our nature is to bear fits of righteousness and holiness.  We are blessed because we have the law of God and the Holy precepts to walk in, to keep us on course, on the high way.

Today, let us be holy!

WE HAVE SEARCHED IT

WE HAVE SEARCHED IT
IN THE BEGINNING...THE WORD
DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY, JANUARY 23, 2012

Lo this, we have searched it, so it is; hear it, and know thou it for thy good.
Job 5:27

Is there anything you have searched out in God?  Have you tested, or tasted to see that the Lord is good?  Have you learned of His supernatural power, or seen that he never forsakes the righteous?

Today, let us know God.

ORDAINED ARROWS
IN THE BEGINNING...THE WORD
DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY, JANUARY 22, 2012

... he ordaineth his arrows against the persecutors.
Psalm 7:13

God knows how to fight your battles.  When the enemy thinks he has you bound--just then God is turning everything around for your good.
Today, let God ordain an arrow to destroy His enemies!

ALIVE UNTO GOD

ALIVE UNTO GOD
IN THE BEGINNING…THE WORD
DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY, JANUARY 20, 2012
Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Romans 6:11
Raised in the likeness of the Lord’s resurrection, we are now alive unto God--free from the bondage of sin!  All that is corrupt and fallen in our flesh no longer has dominion over us.  We can rely upon the Spirit and LIVE.  We can count on our flesh being dead.
When fear comes up in our flesh, we can reckon it dead and rely on the Spirit to bring faith.  When hatred tries to rise up in us, we can count on it having no control or power over us,  and rely on the Spirit to pervade our hearts with  love.  When Satan persecutes us with his lies and accusations and we want to fight back, we can trust that the Spirit will raise us up to higher ground and will cause us to praise and behold God in the midst of the persecution.  When the arm of flesh wants to befriend us, we can reckon it dead and hold onto God’s unchanging hand.
Today, let us LIVE...unto God.

PLANTED IN CHRIST

PLANTED IN CHRIST
IN THE BEGINNING THE WORD
DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY,  JANUARY 18, 2012

For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also  in the likeness of his resurrection.  Romans 6:5

Have you decided to make the kingdom of God your home?  If so, you will live by the Spirit of God, and you will abide in Christ.  And just as Christ has suffered and died, we shall suffer and die daily while alive in this flesh.  Still, the soul has been saved at the point of conversion.  The saints have i our souls already been liberated from the bondage of sin and the world's dominion.  That means that our spirit man is not controlled by sin or the world.  The saints of God have newness of life;  we walk and live as resurrected beings--with all the power due us.  (Even as Satan tries to throw everything at us, we keep getting up and giving birth to new life!)
"We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body" 2 Corinthians 4:8-10.

Yes, what a wonderful life to be planted together in the likenes of Christ's death.  For the true church of God does not operate by the flesh, nor is ruled by it. We are dead to sin and its dominance.  We are dead to the world and its depression.  We are dead, laid down in the rich soil of the Kingdom of God.  And that which has died is being made alive by the Spirit of God to produce those things pleasing to God.

Today, let us rejoice in all that our Savior as already accomplished for our well-being!

ALL SOULS ARE GOD'S

ALL SOULS ARE GOD'S
IN THE BEGINNING...THE WORD
DAILY DEVTIONAL FOR TODAY, JANUARY 17, 2012

Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father is mine, so also the soul of the son is mine:  the soul that sinneth, it shall die.  Ezekiel 18:4

Did you know that your soul belongs to God.  He is the creator of that which is you.  He has power and authority over your life and your future.  And most of all your soul is in His hand.  He will care for you and comfort you.  God desires for your soul to live with him forever in perfect fellowship and perfect peace.  John 3:16 tells us how much he loved the world; so much that he was willing to give his only begotten Son, to die on a cross so that you could live with him eternally.

Today, let us love God back with our whole soul, just as He always hoped it would be.

RUN

 RUN
IN THE BEGINNING...THE WORD
DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY, JANUARY 16, 2012

And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.  For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry,
wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. Hab. 2: 2,3

Seek the Lord's will for your life.  Write it down and pray over it.  At the set time you will need to put on your running shoes--for the will of God will be made plain to you like an open path.

Today, let us run!

PUTTING THE FLESH TO REST

PUTTING THE FLESH TO REST
IN THE BEGINNING...THE WORD
DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY, JANUARY 15, 2012

Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.
Zechariah 4:6

The work of God shall be built by His Spirit, not the arm of flesh.  God's work shall have nothing to do with man's works.  We will move in and by the Spirit of God, for the Glory of God.

Today, let us touch and agree--the flesh is put to rest!

DISCERN THIS

DISCERN THIS
IN THE BEGINNING...THE WORD
DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY, JANUARY 13, 2012

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.  Hebrews 4:12

If the word of God is so powerful, why would a preacher not use the word of God in his sermon?  Why would he settle instead forthe words of poets, or quotations from some worldly wise one? When Jesus preached, he preached the word of God: It is written.

Today, let us be about the Word!

CHARITY

CHARITY
IN THE BEGINNING...THE WORD
DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY, JANUARY 12, 2012

Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth, beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.  Charity never faileth..." (I Corinthians 13:4-8).

It is so difficult to find something that never fails, but here we have it--charity.  Charity is that quality of love that is all giving.  God promises that if we operate in the spirit of charity we shall never fail.  Why?  Because charity is eternal; it is what God is.  I John 4:8 declares:  He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

Today, let us determine that we will forever walk in charity.

CLOTHED WITH THE SPIRIT

CLOTHED WITH THE SPIRIT
IN THE BEGINNING...THE WORD
DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY, JANUARY 11, 2012

For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.  For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven: If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.  2Corinthians 5:2,3

God desires to clothe us with His Spirit.  And we must be clothed with His Spirit to live with Him, both now and in eternity.  At his coming, we don't want to be found naked--without that wedding garment--unprepared for the festivities.  In the parable of the wedding feast found in Matthew 22, a king makes a wedding feast for his son.  He has his servants go out to the highways and byways to call as many as would come.  However, there is a man who decides to come, but does not have a garment prepared.  "And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not a wedding garment:  and he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment?  And he was speechless.  Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away , and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.  For many are called but few are chosen"( Matthew 22: 11-14 ).

This business of being clothed with the Spirit of God is serious business.  For no flesh will glory in God's presence.  Yes, Jesus is returning as a thief in the night and he warns:  "Behold, I come as a thief, Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.

We must turn our gaze toward heaven, and mind not earthly things.  We must begin to lay up treasure for ourselves in heaven through good works done in and through the Spirit of God.  We must ask counsel of the Lord, as we move in His Spirit--knowing that he will crush our enemies and put  gladness in our heart (read Psalm 4:7).

Today, let us be clothed with our heavenly garment.

DRINK FREELY

DRINK FREELY
IN THE BEGINNING...THE WORD
DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY, JANUARY 10. 2012
And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.  Revelations 22:1.2

Are you drinking of the water of life?  Jesus said in John 7:38:  "He that believeth on me, as the scriptures hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water."  For those of us who are born again of the Spirit have this river of life inside of us.  We can be nourished by it at any time.  You may be wondering...How?  By praying in the Holy Spirit we are nourishedby the river of life, and the streams of heaven flow in and through us causing fruitfulness, and there is nothing at all satan can do to stop us.

Today, let us drink of the living water of life--freely. The fountain is open!

THE GOVERNOR

THE GOVERNOR
IN THE BEGINNING...THE WORD
DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY, JANUARY 9, 2012

THE GOVERNOR

And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.
Matthew 2:6

Jesus is the Governor of Israel.  The ruler.  The one who has all control and authority.  Israel's future is in His hands.  God raised Him up because he was and is a faithful, obedient Son.  Israel and all of God's children shall honor the governing hand of the Lord.

Today, let us give honor where honor is due.

SUN SHINE

SUN SHINE
IN THE BEGINNING...THE WORD
DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY, JANUARY 8, 2012

So may all your enemies perish, O LORD!  But may they who love you be like the sun when it shines in its strength.  Then the land had peace forty years.  Judges 4:31 (NIV)

The Scriptures tell us that the Lord shall make his face shine upon us (read Numbers 6:25)  That is what he has decided to do for his Church, the saints of God, the called out ones.  The enemies of God shall perish-- those who choose not to submit to the rule of Christ Jesus.  But for those of us who love Him, we shall wear his countenance.
Today, let us shine like the Son, and like the sun.

A WEIGHTY MATTER

A WEIGHTY MATTER
IN THE BEGINNING...THE WORD
DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY, JANUARY 5, 2012

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

The government of the world, of every kingdom, of every age, is upon the shoulder of Jesus Christ.  Jesus is in perfect control and has complete authority over all things in heaven and in earth.  He rules.  He reigns.

Jesus desires to give us authority in his kingdom on earth, as it is in heaven; but we must first prove that we can handle weighty matters.

Today, let us regard the government of Christ Jesus, and pray for wisdom and power to rule well.

UP!

UP!
IN THE BEGINNING...THE WORD
DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY, JANUARY 4, 2012

And Deborah said unto Barak, Up; for this is the day in which the LORD hath delivered Sisera into thine hand:  is not the LORD gone out before thee?  So Barak went down from mount Tabor, and ten thousand men after him.
Judges 4:14

Look at Barak in this verse.  He is mobilized by Deborah's encouragement. Barak moves with confidence, believing the words of Deborah:  the Lord has gone out before thee.  As this story unfolds we see nothing but action.   We see that as Barak moves, the  Lord moves with him.  Barak goes down from the mount (4:14); the Lord discomfits the enemy (4:15); Barak pursues (4:22), and God subdues (4:23).

What victories are awaiting us as we get UP!  God has a plan that He wants to execute  through your life, through my life.

Today, let us be UP!  Is not the Lord gone out before us?

EYESALVE

EYESALVE
IN THE BEGINNING...THE WORD
DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY, JANUARY 3, 2012

I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear, and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.  3:18

When the fall of mankind came, the eyes of Adam ad Eve were opened--and they began to die.  Instead of running to God, they began to hide from him. Their sight was corrupted We.Their innocence was gone.  They became critical, judgmental and full of fear.  Mankind must be redeemed out of this state of corruption. What is the eyesalve that we must apply so that we may see as the Lord would have us to see. We need the eyesalve of charity and grace.  And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins. I Peter 4:8
Today, let us have charity.

OPENED EYES

OPENED EYES

IN THE BEGINNING...THE WORD
DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY, JANUARY 2, 2012

And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
Genesis 3:7

When sin entered the world, the point of attack was upon the eyes.  The Scripture tells us that the eyes of Adam and Eve were now opened.  That is to say, that their eyes were now corrupted.  They would now know good and evil.  They would be judgemental, defensive, careful, covered-up.  That which was beautiful, whole and complete-- they would now see as naked.  God made Adam in the image of God; but God could no longer fellowship with Adam because Adam had found a fault in the creation.  Adam  realised that he was naked.  God asks Adam:  "Who told thee that thou wast naked?"  God wanted to know who corrupted the eyes of his creation.  Who caused mankind to be so judgemental, defensive, careful, covered-up?  No doubt, it is the work of satan that has corrupted the eyes of man.  But wonderfully, God has an eyesalve that we can apply to our our eyes so the shame of our nakedness does not appear, so that we may see (Read Revelations 3:18).

Today, Let us allow the grace of God to restore our sight, that we might have a bountiful eye to behold the glory of the Lord.

A BOUNTIFUL EYE

A BOUNTIFUL EYE
IN THE BEGINNING...THE WORD
DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY, JANUARY 1, 2012

He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor.
Proverbs 22:9

The Scripture tells us of a bountiful eye--like the eyes of God.  The bountiful eye sees differently than the eye of the scorner or contentious man.  The bountiful eye sees that which is praiseworthy.  The bountiful eye sees the design of God in every person and circumstance.  The bountiful eye shall be blessed, for it will behold the good, the lovely, the Lord.  The bountiful eye is generous by nature.  It sees the need in others and gives.  God gives us the gift of a bountiful eye when our eyes are ever toward the Lord.

Today, Let us thank God for he that hath a  bountiful eye.
