CORRUPT
That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. EPHESIAN 4:22-25 KJV
You were told that your foolish desires will destroy you and that you must give up your old way of life with all its bad habits.
Let the Spirit change your way of thinking
and make you into a new person. You were created to be like God, and so you must please him and be truly holy EPHESIANS 4:22-24.CONTEMPORARY ENGLISH VERSION
For you ought to put off the old man (according to your way of living before) who is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind.
And you should put on the new man, who according to God was created in righteousness and true holiness.

be renewed in the spirit of your mind,
