THE GATES OF HELL SHALL NOT PREVAIL


IN THE BEGINNING...THE WORD                                                                                              DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY, DECEMBER 29, 2013                                                         THE GATES OF HELL SHALL NOT PREVAIL

And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Matthew 16:18

Then they sought to take him: but no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come. John 7:30

Therefore they sought again to take him: but he escaped out of their hand, John 10:39                                  

After two days was the feast of the passover, and of unleavened bread: and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take him by craft, and put him to death. Mark 14:11                                                

Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Matthew 5:11                                                                                                              

Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did.  But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men,
And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man. John 2:23.24,25                    

This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah.
Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.
 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
 Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah. Psalm 24:6-10

  LORD, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me.
 Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.
 But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.
  I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.
 I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.
 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.
  Arise, O LORD; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.
Salvation belongeth unto the LORD: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah. Psalm3
