INTENSIVE CARE
And when
Jesus was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother laid, and sick of a
fever.
And he
touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto
them.
When the
even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and
he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick:
That it
might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took
our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses. Matthew 8:14-17
Jesus not
only purchased our salvation, he heals our diseases. In Psalm103:3 the Lord is the one “Who
forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases.” Throughout the New Testament Jesus is the one who
loves mankind and restores health: “And
his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people
that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were
possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the
palsy; and he healed them” (Matthew 4:24).
Sometimes we forget how much of our ministry to others is to
help them feel better. With love and
gentleness, we are to serve one another... and care. The Apostle Paul said of his ministry, “But
we were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherisheth her children: So being
affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted unto you, not
the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because ye were dear unto us” I
Thessalonians 2:7, 8 Wow. That is intensive care.
Today, and forevermore, let us be gentle among one another,
restoring health through the Spirit of God.
