FILLED AND OVERFLOWING

IN THE BEGINNING...THE WORD
DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY, MAY 29, 2012

FILLED AND OVERFLOWING

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Psalm 23:5

Jesus will anoint you and baptize you with His Holy Spirit if you ask Him to fill you.  It is His desire that you are filled and overflowing with His Spirit.  Speaking in tongues will be the result of this baptism, the evidence of it.  Then you will begin a life-long journey of asking and desiring to be re-filled.  When you speak in tongues you are edifying your inner man, giving him the resources to please God in spirit and in truth. The Scriptures give us insight into this filling of the Spirit in the book of John 7:36-38:

In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.  (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

As you continue to walk with God, make sure you ask Him for the drink of living water that will satisfy your soul.  He will fill you up and cause your cup to run over.

Today, Jesus wants to fill you with The Spirit of the Lord.
