MY MEAT

IN THE BEGINNING...THE WORD
DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY, AUGUST 30, 2013

MY MEAT

Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?  Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. Matthew 24:45,46

The ministers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ serve spiritual meat, blessed forever. The meat that we serve is rich and fulfilling.  The meat that we serve is hearty and good.  May we overcome every distraction in the service of this meat.  May we prepare the best for those whom we serve.  May we love this labour of LOVE.  May Jesus Christ and Him crucified be our life, our love, our goal, our hope and our glory, our good and holy ground.  May the church be blessed and edified and fully developed as we...serve meat!

Today, blessings to the preachers!

MY MEAT

IN THE BEGINNING...THE WORD
DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY, AUGUST 29, 2013

MY MEAT:  BLESSED FOR EVER

I was in the city of Joppa praying: and in a trance I saw a vision, A certain vessel descend, as it had been a great sheet, let down from heaven by four corners; and it came even to me: Upon the which when I had fastened mine eyes, I considered, and saw fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air. And I heard a voice saying unto me, Arise, Peter; slay and eat. But I said, Not so, Lord: for nothing common or unclean hath at any time entered into my mouth. But the voice answered me again from heaven, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common. Acts 11:6-9

Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed. John 6:27

  And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;
Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.
And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.
And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever. Revelations 5:11-14

Christ is blessed for ever.  He provides us with eternal cleansing and holiness.  He is the Messiah, the anointed one who is over all the earth.  He is uncommon and clean.  He is sealed by the Father which means that He is the Meat that will not perish.  He is not perishable, but eternal.  As we feast on Him we take on his divine nature and have a life in the Spirit, keeping us sealed from the corruption of the world.

Whatever is in Christ is "kosher."  Whatever is in Christ is fit and true and blessed forever.  Jesus is our fountain of blessing, providing a life of  cleaness, wholeness, peace and purity.  As we partake of Him, the fount of blessing is in us; we are blessed for ever and have the power to bless for ever.

Today, arise and eat!

MY MEAT

  IN THE BEGINNING...THE WORD
DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY, AUGUST 28, 2013

MY MEAT

Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.
He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.
As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.
This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever. John 6:54-58

As we are called by Jesus Christ, He is our meat and our satisfaction. We live by Him.  We digest His WORD and keep his commands in us.  We take hold of His Spirit and He dwells within us.  We behold Him in the noon day sun and meditate upon Him in the night watches.  He is our Meat.  He strenghens us, and sustains us, and fills us with wisdom, and knowledge, and glory-- so that in life and in death, He shall be magnified in us.

Today, taste and see that the LORD is good!

MY MEAT

IN THE BEGINNING...THE WORD
DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY, AUGUST 27, 2013

MY MEAT

In the mean while his disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eat.
But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of.
Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat?
Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. John 4:31-34

The will of God was meat for Christ.  He was satisfied by His duty.  Ministering to the lost and bringing revelation to those in darkness was filling and fulfilling for Him.

Our families and communities and churches often seem so focused on food.  What will we serve?  What will be the next meal?  What wll we eat?  Meat, meat, meat! We are so focused and consumed by food that we are easily overtaken by the carnal, continual consumption.

God is calling us to His meat.  As we become increasingly occupied with His will, we will find that God sustains us and fills us in ways that earthy consumption cannot.

Today, may you have meat to eat that the world knows not of.

FLY

IN THE BEGINNING...THE WORD
DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY, AUGUST, 19, 2013

FLY

In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.
Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because he was wroth.
There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.
He bowed the heavens also, and came down; and darkness was under his feet.
And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: and he was seen upon the wings of the wind. 2 Samuel 22:7-11

Gos is so magnificent.  With God, we can fly upon the wings of the wind.  And moreover, according to the word recorded in 2 Samuel 22, God will also draw us out of many waters of trouble.  He will deliver us from our strong enemy.  He will keep us in the day of calamity.  He will bring us into a large place and will be merciful unto us.Yes, our God is magnificent.
Today, worship God...and fly!

HIS WORK IN YOU

IN THE BEGINNING...THE WORD
DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY, AUGUST 18, 2013

HIS WORK IN YOU

Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. Hebrews 13:20,21

God is working in you, His beloved child.  He is working that which is wellpleasing in his sight.  He is causing His Son to be developed in you through the Spirit of Christ. As He develops you, you will have the desire and power to do every good work that is in accordance to His will.  We must keep the faith as we submit to the power of God.

WALK IN THE SPIRIT

IN THE BEGINNING...THE WORD
DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY, AUGUST 13, 2013

WALK IN THE SPIRIT

For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.  This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.  For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. Galatians 5:14-17

We must build up our Spirit man so that we may have the abundant life promised to us in Christ Jesus.  By praying in the Holy Ghost and staying intimately connected to the Word of God, we will defeat the foe of the flesh.  Yes, the Spirit has many purposes to accomplish, but the flesh wants to stop them all.  This I say: Walk in the Spirit!

BUILDING UP, CASTING DOWN, AND GOING FORTH

IN THE BEGINNING...THE WORD
DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY, AUGUST 9, 2013

BUILDING UP, CASTING DOWN, AND GOING FORTH

But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost. Jude 1:20

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; 2 Corinthians 10:5

Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Luke 10:19

As we go forth in the power of God, we must build ourselves up by praying in the Holy Ghost.  This is the remedy against the fall.  We must cast down imaginations and everything that opposes the revealed will and knowledge of God.  And then, as we go forth. we must walk in the power of the Spirit, which affords us all power over the enemy.

Today, it's all clear!

THE INHABITANTS OF THE VILLAGES CEASED

IN THE BEGINNING...THE WORD
DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY, AUGUST 9, 2013

THE INHABITANTS OF THE VILLAGES CEASED

The inhabitants of the villages ceased, they ceased in Israel, until that I Deborah arose, that I arose a mother in Israel. Judges 5:7

How and why did the inhabitants of the villages cease?  They came to the end of their strivings.  They figured out that their mother wit was faulty.  Their witty inventions had failed.  All hope was lost.  Their investments were fake. Their idols broke.  Their wells ran dry.   Their lives were lies. They were weary. They were worn.  They ceased from their own way because they realized that they needed nurturance from another source.  This Deborah had a word from God.  She had a power and a blessing to share.  Finally, they were willing to listen, hear, and possibly believe. Finally, they knew the world had nothing for them.  Finally, the door of the kingdom was opened.

CHOSEN, BEFORE THE WORLD BEGAN

IN THE BEGINNING...THE WORD
DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY, AUGUST 1. 2013

CHOSEN, BEFORE THE WORLD BEGAN

Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. John 15:16

Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;
Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,  But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:
Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.  For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day. 2Timothy 1:8-12

We are chosen and called, not according to our own works, but according to the purposes and grace of God.  We are appointed to certain positions and certain sufferings, but let us be persuaded that our God is able to keep us and all that we have committed unto Him.
